The demo site team from Liège had secretly set their own agenda, seizing the opportunity to whisk the partners off for a few hours to visit their demo site at the Haute Ecole in Liège. Attendees were as surprised as they were delighted by the behind-the-scenes organisation of the train trip – with Greencom and Acciona on-hand with refreshments.
Once in Liège, the visitors were greeted by the Haute Ecole director himself, Christian Ninane, along with Etienne Prégaldien who is in charge of communications. Then the quality manager from subcontractor STRABAG took them to see the work areas within the engineering college. Since most of the works have been completed over the year, it was an ideal time for consortium members to see for themselves the reality of what has been accomplished. The trip back to Brussels served as an improvised “break-out” session where the group could network and discuss project details in an informal setting.
Back in Brussels, the Project Officer and Technical Project Officers shared their views on BRICKER’s progress. They were pleased with the high quality and level of detail in the deliverables, the overall coordination and the general progress of the project. They also picked up on the good working atmosphere within this international consortium. Our attention should now be on maintaining momentum and on the roll-out of the dissemination and exploitation plan.
