The southern Spanish city of Seville was the setting of a summit on climate change organised on 13 December 2017 by Partenalia, a European association of intermediate local authorities, and attended by representatives of the Covenant of Mayors as well as by members of BRICKER.

Getting to grips: students and lecturers learn about the renovation and retrofitting underway on their home turf.

On 23 March, members of the BRICKER team in Liège, Belgium, reached out to students and lecturers, delivering a set of presentations about the retrofitting works that started a few months ago at their industrial engineering college.

The BRICKER consortium convenes in Liège in late September for its 3rd project meeting and general assembly.

Beyond the overview of work packages, the three-day gathering featured the project’s 3rd exploitation workshop, the content of which was put together by the newly established exploitation board (with ACCIONA, STEINBEIS and TECNALIA ).

Mid-April saw the BRICKER project’s first review, coming after one and a half years of endeavours. Members of the consortium convened in the Belgian capital and delivered presentations in the presence of the Project Officer and Project Technical Advisor.

BRICKER General Assembly hosted by the Government of Extremadura in Cáceres, Spain.

The BRICKER project’s General Assembly convened in Cáceres, Spain, from 1st to 3rd October to check the current status of the project progress against plan and to map out the tasks and challenges that lay ahead in the short to mid-term. It was also the opportunity for the 18 partner  consortium to check out for the first time  the Spanish demonstration site managed by the Government of Extremadura.

Last week the BRICKER consortium launched www.bricker-project.com designed to provide a platform for dissemination and exchange on retrofit solutions applied to non-residential public buildings. 

A new project about high energy-efficient and cost-effective public buildings

The project BRICKER, co-funded by the EU, takes off this month for four years of efforts towards reducing energy consumption in public buildings by 50%. With an overall budget of almost €13 million, coordinator Acciona along with their partners will produce a scalable, replicable and cost effective methodology for refurbishing existing public-owned non-residential buildings.
